Below are the answers to some frequently asked questions that our clients have had over the years about our signature cabinet refinish process, how to prepare, and what they can expect.
I would like to hire you, and schedule a time to have a project completed. Do you require a deposit?
We may require a nonrefundable deposit of $100.00 to schedule a time for us to begin your project. This deposit will be applied to the total balance owed for the completion of the job. This deposit can be paid through PayPal online, or with a check or cash.
When is payment due?
50% of the total cost, less the scheduling deposit, is due on the first day of the project. The remaining balance is due upon installation of your newly painted cabinet doors and drawers at project completion.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, check, money order, and payment with credit card. Credit card payments are subject to a processing fee.
What colors are available or are popular?
You can choose from any color choice which is available through any major professional paint store. However, white is currently a popular color choice for cabinets. Our most popular color is Sherwin Williams Pure White.
How long does the process take?
We are in your home for about 2 days, the first day we remove all the doors and drawer fronts, cover the flooring, counter tops, walls, etc. Then we prep the wood by sanding, cleaning and priming. The second day we sand all the primer, caulk and fill any cracks or holes, then start with final coats of paint. We take the door and drawer fronts to our shop for 5 to 12 business days where they will go through the same process as the cabinet bases. When complete the installation of your painted cabinet doors and drawers takes from 1 to 4 hours.
Do you only refinish kitchens?
We also refinish bathroom vanities, fireplace mantles, built in book cases, stair case railings, and furniture.
Do you stain wood cabinets?
Yes, we also stain cabinets and furniture.
Do we need to remove all the things out of our cabinets before you begin?
No, we are able to mask the cabinets without removing any items from inside the cabinets.
What do you need us to do before you start our project?
We need the counter tops cleared off, as well as the floors clear of rugs, etc.
Should we clean our cabinets before you start?
No, we will clean them before applying primer and paint. Please notify us if you have used any silicone based wood polish in the past 3 months such as Pledge, Murphy’s Oil Soap, or Old English.
The paint store is having a sale, should I buy paint to save some money?
No, our contractor discount is better than any sales that the paint store provides to the public.
How do I clean my cabinets after they are painted?
We suggest using a mild soap and water on a soft non abrasive cloth. We also suggest not to use ammonia or bleach based products to prevent any damage to the paints sheen. We do recommend using the brands “Method” or “Meyers” for cleaning as well.
What kind of warranty do you provide?
Our warranty covers paint failure, but does not include normal wear and tear.
